D. magna was raised either on the green alga S. obliquus (= calibrator set at 1), on microcystin-free cyanobacteria (S. elongatus or the mutant of M. aeruginosa PCC 7806), or on the microcystin-producing M. aeruginosa PCC 7806 wild type. Depicted is the mean relative expression (n = 3, ± SD) of GapDH, UBC and SucDH. Letters indicate a significant difference (p < 0.001) between treatments.
