Zebrafish were treated with zinc depleted feed and water for 14 days and compared with fish kept at the standard control condition. The bars represent the mean of nine fish for elemental composition or eight fish for Zn2+ influx analysis; error bars denote standard deviation (SD). A statistical significance between control and zinc deficiency is shown by an asterisk (P < 0.05).
