Species abbreviations: L., Lactobacillus; Ln., Leuconostoc; Pc., Pediococcus; S., Streptococcus.
  2. a) L. lactis has a codY paralog named codZ[41].
  3. b) There is a second glnPH gene located next to the glnPH,Q operon.
  4. c) The glnPH gene encodes two H domains.
  5. d) In O. oeni the gene glnPH is in one operon with a gene encoding an asparaginase, whereas a glnQ homolog is missing.
  6. e) In L. salivarius a second glnPH gene is not part of an operon and is located elsewhere on the genome with respect to the glnPHQ operon.
