Effect of 20-hydroxyecdysone (20E) and 20E plus juvenile hormone III (JH) on miRNA expression in Blattella germanica . Specimens were treated with 1 μg of 20E (A) or with 1 μg of 20E plus 1 μg of JH (B) in freshly emerged last instar nymph and miRNAs were measured 24 h later. miRNA levels were measured by qRT-PCR, using U6 as a reference. Data represent 3 biological replicates (mean ± SEM) and are normalized against control females (reference value = 1); the asterisk indicates statistically significant differences with respect to controls (p < 0.05), according to the REST software tool [28].
