Expression of lncRNAs is conserved among different T. vaginalis strains. Reverse transcriptase (RT-)PCR was performed on complementary DNA (cDNA) generated from RNA of T. vaginalis strains T1, T016 and FMV1 in the presence (+) or, as control, absence of the reverse transcriptase enzyme (−). All six randomly chosen lncRNAs candidates were found expressed in the three different strains analysed.
