From: Obtaining reliable information from minute amounts of RNA using cDNA microarrays
Composite array images generated by the amplification protocol. The labeled cDNA probes were generated from total RNA from the U251 cell line (Cy5) and the LN229 cell line (Cy3), respectively. Seven differentially expressed genes were randomly picked up across the array. Among these, four genes, GFAP, S100, HLA-DR and SNRP-B, were detected by using both the amplification and the regular protocols; three genes, IGFBP2, integrin beta 4 and HLA-A, were detected only using the amplification protocol.
