The finding of other homologs from alpha proteobacteria grouping with the Rhodopseudomonas and Rhodobacter sequences, and the finding of both homologs coexisting in the same genome (Sinorhizobium) suggests that this QuartOP represents a case of unrecognized paralogy with differential gene loss.
