  3. 3 The Dps protein affects gene expression, mediating changes in about 10% of 300–400 detected proteins [39-40]. Moreover, Dps is involved in massive and non-random reorganization of bacterial nucleoid during stationary phase, leading to global changes in gene expression. The indirect nature of these changes means that analysis of regulatory targets is not readily amenable to conventional computational analysis.
