Catabolic pathways for sugars degraded by all studied strains of Propionibacterium freudenreichii . Gene names are the same for all sequenced strains. PFREUD locus_tag corresponds to that of CIRM-BIA 1 (the type strain). All these genes belonged to the core genome of 21 strains of Propionibacterium freudenreichii. All degradation pathways are reconstructed for the first time in this paper, glycolysis excepted [16].
