Phylogenetic tree of SOD genes from the genomes of three cotton species and Arabidopsis. A maximum-likelihood analysis was performed using the MEGA6.0 program. The Jones-Taylor-Thornton with Gamma Distributed substitution model was chosen as the most suitable substitution model based on the result of ModelGenerator before the phylogenetic tree’s construction. Red, pink, orange and black gene labels indicate G. hirsutum, G. raimondii, G. arboretum and A. thaliana SOD genes, respectively. Bootstrap values obtained from 1,000 replicates are shown below the nodes. The SOD genes were classified into two major groups and five subfamilies (Groups Ia, Ib, Ic, IIa and IIb, which have brown, purple, yellow, green and blue branches, respectively)
