(A) - hypothesis 1 for the Rev recycling at the nuclear pore complex; (B) - hypothesis 2 for the Rev recycling in the cytoplasm. RRE - Rev binding site on 4 kb and 9 kb RNAs; Crm1, RanGTP, RanGDP, Importin - are the major cellular factors mediating the RNA export and import of RNA.
